If you created reports using Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Reports 2008 Basic (the one included with VS) and you want to deploy your app on a server, you'll also need to deploy the CR runtime. Your first reaction might be to go to the Business Objects Website and download the CR 2008 runtime.

Crystal Reports (CR) is included as a free add-on for Visual Studio 2003 (CR v. 9.1), Visual Studio 2005 (CR v. 10.2) and Visual Studio 2008 (CR v. 10.5). In addition, there is also Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 which is discussed in more detail below in it's own section. As mentioned in the Overview section above, versions of Crystal Reports that bundle with Visual Studio .NET have the least export options. The table below summarizes all three Crystal Reports bundles.

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio (CRVS) is the only version of Crystal Reports that supports Visual Studio 2010, 2012 (SP7) and 2013 (SP9). CRVS is neither a Visual Studio bundle, nor a stand-alone version of Crystal Reports. However, it can be downloaded free of charge and integrates into VS. For the download of CRVS see the SAP Crystal Reports, Version for Visual Studio .NET Landing Page. CRVS offers two significant improvements over all previous bundles for VS .NET;

The purpose is to document a couple of confusing aspects of crystal reports. The naming is horrible, so to be clear I am using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008, which is version 10.5. That is not to be confused with Crystal Reports 2008 (which is version 12) or crystal reports XI or any of the other stupid naming.

I received an email about the Acid Pro 10.5 upgrade indicating that current owners of Acid Pro 10 can upgrade for free. I see no way to upgrade without adding the upgraded product to my cart, along with a $79 charge ? How can I upgrade for free ? Thanks

Same issue here, updating from within the app shows no updates. Link takes me to the website which doesn't change (shop page) when logged in, adding to cart lets me switch it to an 'upgrade' for $79, but no free 10.5 update visible anywhere. Notifier tasktray app also offered to sell me the 10.0 Upgrade for $79 (I have 10 installed, but also 11 non-pro and an older Pro license as well not installed).

I'm bummed just paid $79.00 for a free update to 10.5. The download is 10.0.5 which I already updated to. When I ran the installer it said I needed to uninstall old version, so I did, now ACID won't install because of an error with Visual c++ 2013 install. The thing is, I know Visual c++ 2013 is already on my computer. I'm not getting warm and fuzzy feelings about this. What good are a bunch of vouchers for loops when I can't use them?

Recently I've updated my solution to CrystalReports for VS2010 (now I have 13.0.2000.0 version along with .NET 4.0 and C#). When I used CrystalReports 10.5.3700.0 CrystalReportViewer was situated inside an UpdatePanel and controlled with my own toolbar and everything worked fine. After an update this stuff refused to work at all (CrystalReportViewer was simply blank) and I according to advices on this board removed all UpdatePanels and ScriptManager from my page and began to use native CrystalReportViewer toolbar. Now first page of the report is rendering properly and Print and Export buttons of the native toolbar are working fine but when i'm trying to go to the next page of a report, I see only word "Error" in the report's area.

We are currently using Crystal Report 8 with IIS6 for our web application, and we would like to upgrad our platform to windows 2008 64bit, sql server 2008 64bit & IIS 7.5. Our Classic ASP Application is working Fine. Now when we want to upgrade from crystal report 8 to Crystal Server 2011, Crystal Designer 2011. we have installed crystal reports server 2011 Evaluation version on our dev platform, from designer we where able to added rpt files to repositary.

We have a report that uses a dynamic pick list to allow the user to select values from a list loaded from the database. When I run the report in the designer, I get prompted with a pick list. We run this report in a web UI and on one server we get the list and on another where the list is supposed to be we get a free-form text entry field that allows me to type in anything at all.

We have recently migrated our solution to .net 2.0 and crystal reports 2008 on Windows7. Our is a winforms application developed in vb.net and we extensively use crystal reports in the application.
